Hip Hop Dance Class
Joining the Music Program in the push for youth-led programming, HHDC started from youth interest when Andres Lin Fan (senior at George Washington High School) approached Ricardo Bonilla and asked what needed to happened to start a dance club. After several meetings, B-Boy Club started every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch. Soon after, the club transformed into a class, adopting the name Hip Hop Dance Class to also serve as an umbrella term for the various styles (krump, pop and lock, b-boy/girl, freestyle, choreography) of dancing being practiced. Although there are 3 program leaders, the class functions in the community teaching format well known in JustBEATS, where all students teach and learn from each other.
The class is lead by Andres Lin Fan, Tat Wong and Eric Law.
