Teen Center Lite
Want a cool and friendly place to get your homework done? Need a little help with your homework? Teen Center Lite offers a quiet place to complete homework, prepare for exams, use computers to complete assignments, and work with certified teachers or homework leaders. Get help with Math, Science, History, English, Foreign Language or elective classes.
Two Track System in Teen Center Lite
Drop in hours:
• Frequent Flyer Card and Extra Credit: At TCL study centers, students can track and record their completed coursework each day; beacon staff signs off on student’s work and; student can receive extra credit for a completed Frequent Flyer Card
• Math and Science rooms, Library, T1/T2
Structured Tutoring Program:
• Contracts between parent(s)/guardian(s), student, and Homework Leader
• Daily or weekly progress reports
• Regular meetings with parent(s)/guardian(s)
• SchoolLoop
• Incentives for students
SAT Class
• Offered 2x/school year: bi-monthly, 3 hr. classes
• Taught by community volunteer
• Helpful tips and tricks to build test-taking confidence
• Free book with enrollment
• Limited space, 25 students only!
• Recommended for Juniors and Seniors
Cyber High
• Online credit recovery in all subjects
• Drop in to use a computer: Mon/Tues/Weds/Fri: 3:30-5:30pm, Thurs: 2:30-4:30pm
• Enroll anytime during the semester
• Self-taught, student works at his/her own pace, independently
• Student must only attend drop-in TCL hours to test out of subject
Credit Recovery
• School district no longer offers night school; credit recovery is a response to an overwhelming need
• Geometry (Meets 2x/week, 4 hrs. weekly)
• Biology (Meets 2x/week, 4 hrs. weekly)
• 60 hours must be completed within a semester
